Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is believed to be caused by disruption to brain signals associated with cognitive control. Previous research has established a link between this disruption and ADHD in children, and now a study conducted on young adults has further improved our understanding of the condition.
ADHD is characterized by symptoms such as hyperactivity and inattention, leading to behavioral differences in individuals. Gráinne McLoughlin and her team from King’s College London had previously demonstrated that children with ADHD exhibit differences in their brain structure and function.
