Alice Roberts, an academic, broadcaster, and author, has recently released her debut children’s novel, Wolf Road. The story takes place during the ice age, 30,000 years ago, and follows the journey of Tuuli, a prehistoric girl who encounters a mysterious boy on her way to her tribe’s summer camp.
In order to discuss her new book, New Scientist asked 10-year-old avid reader Jenny, the daughter of culture editor Alison Flood, to interview Alice Roberts. Jenny asked Alice important questions such as whether people really kept wolf cubs as pets, how Roberts gathered information about life 30,000 years ago, and if she would prefer to live in that era or the present.
Alice Roberts will also be a speaker at the upcoming New Scientist Live event in October. Tickets are currently available for purchase.
