There has been a rise in the number of individuals seeking emergency medical attention due to stomach pain and uncontrollable vomiting. These individuals are often found compulsively taking hot showers, as anti-nausea medication provides little relief. Surprisingly, the cause of this condition is cannabis – consuming excessive amounts can lead to cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS).
According to Sam Torbati from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, many patients suffering from CHS present with violent vomiting when they arrive at the emergency department. They frequently appear weak, dehydrated, and may even lose consciousness.
