Photographer Lewis Burnett has captured stunning aerial shots of marine animals using a drone. His collection, titled “Aerial Oceans”, won the Portfolio prize in the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year competition. The photographs showcase the beauty and power of these creatures, leaving viewers in awe of the ocean and its wildlife. The main image features a reef manta ray in Western Australia’s Ningaloo Reef, known for its impressive “wingspan”. Other photographs include a saltwater crocodile spotted in Willie Creek, Western Australia, and a pod of Risso’s dolphins off the coast of Timor-Leste in South-East Asia. Burnett’s dedication and patience in getting close to these animals allowed him to capture these breathtaking images.
